From the beginning of G3, it was clear that my old Leica Televid spotting scope was not suitable for professional guiding… I can’t teach a poor view of a distant individual. So I had to look for a new high-end spotting scope to offer sightings to observers in any possible conditions.

Information about telescopes for nature observation is flourishing on the Internet. Magnification, objective lens size, optical quality, water/fog resistance, angled or straight, durability, weight and portability, eyepieces and price…
Easy for me…I wanted the best (a common theme in my service), so I could choose any of the Swarovski, Zeiss or Kowa brands. My search came in time with the release of the latest high-end telescope by Fallow deer. I usually work with Optica Roma (Madrid).
Con una (enorme) lente objetivo de 99 mm de diámetro, fabricada en una sola pieza de cristal de fluorita (sin aberración cromática), el resultado es absolutamente deslumbrante y luminoso.

We added a zoom eyepiece (30x-70x) that hardly loses optical quality at higher magnification. Vultures can be seen perched high in a tree more than 3 km away.
By the way, I’ve tried the eyepiece with wide-angle zoom… no real difference in field of view. I found it useless.
Un telescopio perfecto para el digiscoping… imágenes testigo, fotografías que compartir en redes sociales e incluso algunas imágenes muy bonitas.
Be careful with the neoprene case – very good for protecting such an expensive object – but it is easily broken by manipulating the fastening button.
I couldn’t spend my money better and even managed to buy a second telescope, so we have no shortage of great views. We are all happy in the field.
