Circular trekking route
This very nice circular route, 13 kilometers long and 500 meters high, mixes several classic hiking routes. The excursion allows you to enjoy the Sierra del Hacho, the highlight of the municipality of Gaucín.
Landscape: the castle of El Águila overlooks the village of Gaucín and Sierra Bermeja.
As always in the Serrania de Ronda, there are magnificent landscapes and biodiversity with sumptuous views of the village of Gaucin and Sierra Bermeja.
For seniors and families
Not in vain this region is considered one of the most interesting for hiking in the mid-mountains of Spain. Ideal for seniors and families.
Biodiversity
In the first part of the route we will explore the slopes of the peak El Hacho de Gaucín, where butterflies and wildflowers abound. If we are lucky, the flowering of peonies is exceptional for its density.
Mount Mediterraneo
In the second part we will enter the forest formed by cork oaks, holm oaks and gall oaks, with stretches of very pleasant trails and a waterfall as ephemeral as bucolic (Arroyo Carboneras).
Difficulties of the route
Two small difficulties to highlight in this route: the first one we avoid by default, as we generally ignore thesteep slope that leaves the main road to climb up to the geodesic point.
The second is a very small metal ladder that allows you to overcome a barrier and is no problem even for beginner hikers.
